This is what you will do:

The Business Insights Manager is responsible for delivering strategic insights that drive key business decisions within our pharmaceutical operations. This role is essential in transforming data into actionable insights that align with and advance our organizational goals, supporting the marketing, sales, and medical teams, and supporting functions with evidence-based strategies. The Business Insights Manager informs and influences decision-making across functions by enabling high-quality analytics, evidence-based decision support, development of dashboards and tools, and supporting operational needs.  

Organizationally, you are part of the IBEX area — and at the same time, you work closely with the sales, marketing, supporting functions, and senior leaders across the Swiss Marketing Company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Business Insights: Design, lead, and execute qualitative and quantitative strategic analysis initiatives to address key business questions related to commercial products and or operational data. 
  • Competitive Intelligence: Proactively monitor industry, product, and competitors, economic trends, all on international, national, and regional levels.
  • Strategy Shaping: Contribute to the development/revision of market strategies and identify actionable insights based on data to sustainably accelerate business performance.
  • Forecasting: Build patient funnels and ambitious & reliable sales forecasts, and act as a partner and challenger for business.
  • Market Research: Conduct and consolidate market research to identify new opportunities, assess the competitive landscape, and support strategic planning.
  • Visualisations: Co-develop adequate Business Intelligence visualisations to transparently assess performance & benchmark across teams & geographies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the performance across brands, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Customer Engagements & Sales Force Effectiveness:  Define KPIs, analyse field and CRM engagement data, and deliver insights that sharpen targeting, channel mix, and next-best actions to drive SFE and customer engagement strategy.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that deliver comprehensive insights into commercial performance in close collaboration with the cross-functional team
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in commercial processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in sales and marketing operations
  • Insight Communication: Present findings and insights to stakeholders and senior management with a high degree of accuracy and appropriate context, providing data-driven recommendations for business strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Life Science, and/or Data Science, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in business analytics and reporting or similar roles within the pharmaceutical sector (commercial experience is an advantage)
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau) and MS Office Suite
    • Demonstrated experience in user-centric dashboard design/development (e.g. Power BI)
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
    • Fluency in English (German and/or French are nice to have)
    • Experience with CRM and data integration into Power BI (preferred)
  • Competencies:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with deep knowledge of data manipulation, harmonisation, and integration 
    • Proven commercial acumen with the ability to link analytics to business outcomes, prioritise impact, and influence stakeholders with clear recommendations 
    • High learning agility and ability to navigate ambiguity
    • High standards for data accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
    • Skilled at working effectively within cross-functional teams
    • Confidence in requirements gathering and stakeholder management at all levels
    • Ability to lead projects independently and communicate with leadership stakeholders
